The Amityville Junior League offers its members the opportunity to lead or be a part of different committees by signing up to be a member of the committee or become the Chairperson. Being a committee Chairperson requires a little more time than just being a committee member. Committee chairs are required to manage their committee members and attend monthly board meetings. Board meetings occur once a month, every month during their appointed period (May-April).

The following are our 2019 - 2020 committees:

Budget & Finance Committee: develop yearly operating budget, review event budgets and spending. (Chairperson is current Treasurer)

Raffle Committee: secure raffles for all events necessary, write thank you letters to donors, display raffle list at events

Hospitality/Sunshine Committee: send gifts for the birth or death of a Junior League family member

Holiday Homes Tour Committee: plan and coordinate the Homes Tour, craft nights, coordinate or advise on enhancement projects

Done-in-a-Day Committee: plan and coordinate small helpful community projects. These projects are intended to be a one day event

Special Events/Productive Development: small fundraising activities, advise members who have fundraising ideas.

Scholarship Committee: discuss and choose a scholarship essay question, organize and send out packets to schools, read over essays and choose a winner. Committee members are welcome to attend the presentation of the scholarship to the winner at Town Hall.

Garden Tour Committee: plan and coordinate the Garden Tour, craft nights, coordinate or advise on enhancement project

Membership Committee: keep database of members, execute new members night, greet new members at meeting and events, membership drive, track member status

Social Committee: plan social events for the members, Fall reception and Winter Social. Works with Garden and Hospitality on Reception and Social type events 

Ways & Means:  committee members come up with ways to make money to operate the Junior League. Events of Ways & Means will go directly towards operating costs of the Junior League. Events may include the Heritage Fair and Applefest. (Chairpersons are current President and Vice President)

Website Committee: develop the Junior League website to provide appropriate and relevant information to the public and to further advance the Junior League's mission.
