Amityville Junior League 2019 College Essay Scholarship
The Junior League is proud to announce the 2019 College Essay Scholarship Competition.
Amityville and Amity Harbor School district students (including public and private schools) are eligible to participate. This competition is open to any graduating high school senior who will be attending college in the fall 2019. The total award prize is $2,000.

The deadline for the 2019 competition is May 4, 2019.
1. Applicant must be a high school senior and reside within the Amityville School District or Amity Harbor. Applicant may attend a public or private school.
2. Each student must submit all of the following required materials:
a) Completed Applicant Questionnaire
b) An official high school transcript
c) Essay responding to question presented. Essay must be written by the applicant, typed and may not exceed 600 words.
d) Signed Certification of Applicant and Press Release
3. The deadline for this competition is May 4, 2019. All required materials must be submitted and post-marked no later than May 4, 2019. All required materials must be submitted to the following address:

The $2,000 First Prize Scholarship winner will be chosen by a committee comprised of select members of the Junior League of the Amityville Women’s Club. The essay will be judged on its response to the question presented; the strength of argument/s to support position; organization and presentation of arguments; style and creativity; and spelling/grammar/punctuation.
If you are the winner, you will be notified on or before June 1, 2019. The winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship to be used solely for the continuing education of the winning applicant. The winner will need to submit payment information that will allow us to write a check directly to the college of their choice.

In 600 words or less: Explain how you think technology has impacted social interactions in either a positive or negative way.
Write an essay explaining your own experiences of having technology impact social interactions, including examples of people and/or actions you consider having been affected.
